A Holistic Approach to Healing Welcome! Have you ever felt like you talk about a painful issue over and over but nothing changes? Are you ready to start your journey to real transformation? Holistic counseling honors that we are complex beings, and that healing ourselves and building fulfilling lives works best when we include all aspects of who we are in the process. I have found in 20 years as a therapist that integrating understanding from a variety of perspectives helps clients transform the root causes of their suffering, and access their innate wisdom and capacity to heal.
The counseling I offer aims to address core patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that may have helped you get through life, but also cause you distress and interfere with your happiness. So often our early conditioning leaves us feeling and believing we are profoundly limited, when all my experience suggests that the human capacity for growth and transformation is truly remarkable. Holistic psychotherapy embraces a multidimensional approach to healing (meaning there is no one right way, and we will draw on different approaches depending on your unique needs). I am trained in multiple modalities including traditional psychological approaches, attachment therapies, Somatics, hypnotherapy, mindfulness, coaching, and transpersonal approaches. We will collaborate to design a healing relationship that serves you, and our relationship - and the tools we draw upon - can evolve as you change and grow.
One difference between psychospiritual or holistic counseling and traditional psychotherapy is that holistic therapy is not primarily a treatment for a disorder or mental health problem, but a partnership that aims to facilitate healing and evolution in an already whole person. There is still plenty of room to explore and transform what causes distress (including early attachment wounds), but the ground from which we do so is the understanding that you are wise, and that the capacity for healing lies within you. While I have extensive expertise and training in the healing process, I see you as the expert on your life and longings, and I trust in your ability to release what you no longer need and mobilize the strengths within you.
It is vulnerable to share your story with someone new. Please know that I am honored to sit with you and support you on your journey, and I will be warm, present, genuine, and direct with you. I will also look for and enjoy the moments of humor and laughter that, believe it or not, are part of the counseling and healing process. Reach out to explore if we are a match, or if you have questions about who I am and how I work. Thank you for visiting, and many blessings on your journey.
