Welcome! Are you looking for some help in your life and considering psychotherapy? Therapy is a great way to get support with relationships, overwhelming feelings and worries, and shifting patterns that contribute to distress or dissatisfaction in your life. If you are feeling an increase in anxiety due to COVID-19 and the ways this virus is changing our lives, therapy could help you feel more grounded and prepared to face these new challenges. There are many different ways of practicing therapy, and I hope my site will help you understand how I work.
I have been a therapist in private practice for 18 years, and I am also a certified life coach. I specialize in working with adults dealing with anxiety, codependence (easily take care of others but have a harder time taking care of self), loneliness, consequences of trauma, depression, and major life transitions. I also specialize in working with people who want to integrate their spirituality into their healing journey in therapy, and I have worked with people from many faith traditions. As a therapist, I have great respect for our early experiences and family conditioning, and how the beliefs we internalize and the patterns we develop affect our abilities to feel happy and engaged in life and relationships. I also respect the underlying strengths we all possess, and the transformative power of energy and action to change things. Thus, my approach as a therapist is to work both vertically and horizontally– to work deeply and relationally, yet to support my clients in moving forward. In addition to psychotherapy, I offer vocational evaluations for individuals seeking greater clarity about their career or life paths, and ministers pursuing ordination.
